I’ve been watching Danny Phantom and I get it. I get it now.

This show loves to make some offhanded comment, not a hint of consideration or concern in its tone, and just moves on without addressing it like that wasn’t the most creatively horrific concept this side of Nickelodeon. Shit makes up wackass lore on the spot and then disregards it immediately after, asks fascinating questions then looks at you funny when you try to answer them.

I now fully understand how this show has legions of fans dedicated to taking this somewhat mid cartoon and running so far with the implications of the premise they created an entirely different show that’s so much more interesting I’m upset it’s not real.

Yoshi’s Island (very self-indulgent) AU :

After defeating Kamek and his ward, Yoshi finds Luigi…but alas, the stork has already been disposed of. Kamek made sure it would never deliver the babies to their parents.

In this AU, the Yoshis are smart, but still feral enough that they can’t figure out how to find where the stork was taking the twins. Even if they did, the ocean is too big to cross by swimming and they don’t have boats or rafts.

They still understand that the lizard wizard will be back.

So they decide to keep and protect both babies.

At first it’s supposed to be a temporary solution, like how they relayed to transport Mario across the island. But days turn into weeks turn into months, with Kamek’s troops coming back again and again, and soon the babies grow up into boys, then into adults, adopting behaviours of their caretakers, fending invaders off their territory and developing skills to make for their lack of giant tongues or tough scales.

Years pass, until a princess finds her way to the island…

While Bowser agreeing to be Dandelion’s godparent had been a surprise, his actions were not. Luigi already knew the Koopa was over the top, dramatic, and not the least bit restrained in showcasing his emotions.
So the bodyguards, the tutors, and the grandiose gifts and visits were expected.
What Luigi had not expected was Peach taking it was a challenge and becoming incredibly competitive over it. She wasn’t even Dandelion’s godmother! Why did she care about this so much? More importantly why did the two of them have to make this *Luigi’s* problem?!
