calling someone stupid for using a wrong word in place of a similar word, saying someones typos are “homestuck speech,” complaining about someone with an aac device “taking too long” to say something, making fun of someone stuttering or mumbling, none of it is funny at all
im expecting a lot of “pride month is over, now it’s time for wrath month” posts. that’s cool and all. but july is disability pride month.
pride month is when you’re SUPPOSED to be angry. it’s a celebration AND a riot. that was the best time to get angry. second best time is now. but it’s not wrath month. let disabled people have this.
please get angry with us. please fight with us! we are both losing our rights, if we ever even had them to begin with. please don’t talk over us, especially during our own pride month.
did you know over 10,000 people die a year while waiting to be told whether or not they can receive disability benefits?
did you know while being provided disability benefits, disabled people cannot have more than $2,000 total in their bank account? the average rent for an apartment in the united states, as of last month, is $1,995. per month.
while they want to kill queer people, they want to kill disabled people just as bad. please look out for your disabled friends and family. please look out for those of us who don’t have friends and family. those of us who are out on the streets.

I’m back with another Mario Movie AU, because apparently I can’t stop.
(It’s
not really intended as a Bowuigi / Bowsario / Powser scenario, but if you
want to read it that way, be my guest and go wild with your ideas).
Luigi gets captured and taken to Bowser, you know the drill. BUT. Two details make a big difference from canon :

who’s been in a Hobbit bingewatch recently, manages to take a leaf out
of the “surviving the huge murderous dragon by stroking their ego” book
and starts complimenting and praising Bowser, whose reputation spreads
beyond this world, he claims. He’s only come here to admire the glory of
such a magnificent king, the Terror of the Darklands, the Scourge of
the Kingdoms, the King of Monsters (he’s pulling all of this out of what
he’s heard and awkwardly guessed so far). How could he not, after
everything he’s heard about him ?? And yet the tales pale in comparaison
of the real thing. Yes, that’s totally why he’s here.
“And that other human with a moustache ?” “
Do
you think I know every human being with a moustache wearing an identical
outfit with a hat with the letter of his first name on it?! …Because I
don’t! That’s just how normal human males look like !!! Are your mask guys related just because they look like each other ??” Bowser, turning towards the Shy Guys: “Are you ?” “No!! Gross, we’re married, Sir!” “A-anyway,
I’m sure that human (who has nothing to do with me at all) is here for
the same reason as me! To meet you and tell you how much he finds you
awesome! Not for your fiancé at all!”
I would like to ask a bit more about the Starfig Investigations, because you compared it to Robert Asprin (read: one of the biggest staples of my childhood fantasy readings, I had All of the Myth Adventures and Phule books). What's the rough premise? Who is the author? I must find!
It felt very 90s to me, but I couldn’t put my finger on it until I went to a book conference and overheard her literally saying it’s Myth pastiche.
The basic concept is that a half-dragon, half-fairy who lives in the fairy dimension and works as a P.I. gets hired by a creepy unicorn dude to find his missing horn. He’s gifted with the guy’s indentured servant (read sex slave) for the duration of the case. This is for ulterior motives, of course, but Oh No Feelings.
It’s a pretty goofy series, but has so far involved them meddling in the politics of several dimensions and trying to reform magical civil rights. In the human realm, there are pirates straight out of Monkey Island.
Probably the best encapsulation of the author’s sense of humor is that the lead’s father is a super powerful local politician because his specific fairy power is… the power of bureaucracy!
